HOW TO CONNECT YOUR SCALE?
In order to connect your scale to a network and further with other devices or software you will face some serious challenges. But not with Scale Monitor™, or Cloud Scale Link. We made the setup fast and easy, or completely pre-configured, if it comes with a purchased scale.
RS-232 CONNECTION PORT
RS-232 serves as the standard connection port in the scale industry, enabling connectivity between scales and various devices like computers, printers, and more. Since more than 95% of scales has serial port RS-232 it is also used to link scales to computers, in order to export weight data to programs like Excel or others. Typically, the RS-232 port features a standard 9-pin connector, although variations like USB or UTP connectors can also be found.
CONNECTION TYPES
The integration of the system is fast and easy. If you already have the scales, all you need is to connect them to the cloud. You can do this via direct (local) connection or using CloudScaleLink module.
If you do not have scale you can buy pre-configured scales here or conctact your local scale dealer/distributor and asked them for Scale Monitor approved scale. A full list of officially supported scale scan be found here.
DIRECT TO YOUR DEVICE
You can connect your scales locally, via USB, Bluetooth or RS-232 port to your devices. However, Scale Monitor™ is still cloud based and your data is accessible from anywhere. It is only your scale, that is connected locally and this way limited to local use only.
OVER CLOUD SCALE LINK
You can establish a cloud connection for any scale via Cloud Scale Link. It Is a module, you connect to the scale via RS-232 port and allows basically any scale to be connected directly to cloud. This type of connection allows multiple users/devices to connect an use the same scale at the same time.
You can not connect your scale via the existing Ethernet port or WiFi Module if the scale is equipped
WHEN DO YOU NEED THE CLOUD SCALE LINK?
CROSS PLATFORM SUPPORT
When you need to access or exchange your data between programs/apps based on different operating systems, Cloud Scale Link enables you to do just that.
CONNECT YOUR SCALE VIA ETHERNET OR WIFI
In order to connect your scale directly to the network and cloud, over WiFi or Ethernet, you can do it quick and easy with Cloud Scale Link.
You can not connect your scale via the existing Ethernet port or WiFi Module if the scale is equipped with it, because they do not support the Cloud Communication Protocol(MQTT). That’s why Cloud Scale Link is required.
MULTIPLE CONNECTIOS TO ONE SCALE ARE REQUIRED
If you need to connect multiple devices, or if multiple users need to access the scale at the same time, Cloud Scale Link enables it with any scale. Also if multiple clients(apps, programs) need to retrieve weighing data at the same time, Cloud Scale Link makes that possible.
